Kayla's debut market stall
Twelve-year-old Kayla Brown, a Year 7 student at Rainbow P-12 College, is preparing to showcase her handmade creations at the Rainbow Oasis Market this Saturday, October 25.

It will be her first time exhibiting in any market, and she’ll also be the youngest stallholder at the event.
Kayla’s stall will feature a colourful range of handmade items, including jewellery, key chains, bookmarks, stickers, stubby holders, snow globes, and festive Christmas-themed pieces, all crafted at home with her mum’s help.
“I’m kind of nervous, but Mum will be with me,” she said.
“We make things while watching movies and it’s fun to do.”
What started as a hobby has already seen Kayla’s work displayed locally.
“You can see my stickers and everything in the lolly shop and the other shops in the town,” she said.
Despite her growing success, Kayla said she wasn’t sure what to expect from her market debut.
“I don’t really know what to expect ‘cause I haven’t done it before,” she said.
“I’m just looking forward to selling things and looking around if I have the time.”
The Rainbow Oasis Market will run on Saturday, October 25, offering a mix of local art, craft, food and live music and for Kayla, it’s the start of a creative journey she’s excited to share with her community.
